Newsletter No. 12

Thursday, 20th April, 2006

Welcome back everyone to term two.  I hope everyone enjoyed their Easter break.  It was great to hear the happy laughter and chatter as the children arrived at school yesterday, full of stories about chocolate eggs and fun times with families.  They enjoyed the break but appeared excited to be back with friends and ready to begin a new term of learning.

Easter is all about new beginnings. Jesus, in the fullness of his humanity, reveals to us, we too are to rise in the Spirit.

Christ’s Body

Christ has no body now on earth but yours.

Yours are the only hands with which he can work.

Yours are the only feet with which he can go about the world.

Yours are the only eyes through which his compassion can look upon the world.

Christ has no body now on earth but yours.

SO..

Lord make me an instrument of your peace.

Where there is hatred… let me sow love.

Where there is injury… pardon.

Where there is doubt… faith.

Where there is despair… hope.

Where there is darkness… light.

Where there is sadness… joy.

O Divine master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled…as to console.

To be understood…as to understand.

To be loved… as to love.

For..

It is in giving…that we receive.

It is in pardoning…that we are pardoned.

It is in dying…that we are born to eternal LIFE.

(St Francis of Assisi 1182-1226)

sharing, the story of Holy Week from Palm Sunday

to Good Friday, with us at our end of term Mass.

if we believe in Him. During the ceremony they

handed each class a copy of our new Mission Statement

as a reminder that Jesus is our companion and with

His help we can make a difference.

Thank You also to the school community

for their help in raising money during Lent for

Project Compassion.  Our aim was to help

the people of Uganda to buy cows.  Each cow

Cost $600.  We raised just under $1200 which was

a terrific effort thanks to everyone.
