Newsletter No. 9

Thursday, 23rd March, 2006

We are now into week 4 of Lent, and continuing to reflect on how our faith in Jesus is expressed in concrete ways in our everyday lives….

Lord Help Us Know What You Want Us To Do

Lord, in this world of mixed and changing values,

We ask for others, for each other, and for ourselves,

the wisdom to distinguish between

the important and the unimportant,

the true and the false,

the trivial and the significant.

Sometimes we do not know which way to turn,

there are many demands for our attention.

Because we cannot do everything,

help us to get our priorities right.

Help us to know Lord what you want us to do.

Open our ears, to hear what You are saying to us,

in the things that happen to us and in the people we meet.

Open our eyes to see the needs of people around us.

Open our hands, to do our work well, to help when help is needed.

Open our lips to tell others Your message of love

and to bring comfort, happiness and laughter to other people.

Open our minds, to discover the truth about You and the world.

Open our hearts to love You as You have loved us.

Lord help us to know what You want us to do.

Amen.

Have a great day, keep smiling.

Pam

APRE NEWS

Prayer Assemblies

Thank you Mrs Wren and the children

in LWR for leading our prayer assembly

last Friday.  They illustrated the different

types of heroes there are in our lives and

reminded us that like our sports heroes, who

practise everyday,  we must ‘Practise being

Godly’.

Thank you also goes to Mrs Dean and Mrs

Mullane and the children in LMU

for leading our Harmony Day assembly

and making us aware of the number of

people in our school community

who have come from many different

countries and cultures to live in

Australia.  Our school family

is an example of how diverse cultures

can live together in harmony. Thank you also to the children from other cultures who participated and made the assembly a wonderful occasion.  A big

thank you also to our Sacred Heart

Friendship Group for providing the morning tea for our families to ‘Meet & Greet’ after the assembly.

Our next school prayer assembly will be led by Miss Baisden and the children in MB, Friday 31st March.

See you there!

ST PATRICK’S DAY RACES

Another big THANK YOU to all

those wonderful people who volunteered their time last weekend to set up for the St Patrick’s Day

races.  It was a great success and in time we will let you know the financial benefit our school receives

from the day.

Our Project Compassion Project, Cowitas, benefited from the ‘winnings’  of a group of teachers and their partners who attended. We thank them for their

generosity.
